Yesterday urged the Department of Health (DOH) parents with
children five years of age to go to the health center during the month of
September for free vaccination against polio and measles.
According to DOH, the whole month of September was declared
Polio and Measles Month that should take advantage of the public for allegedly
providing the immunizations.
Health Undersecretary said Janet Garin 13 million children
are targeted to be vaccinated DOH and in turn allocate P200 million for such a
nationwide vaccination program.
Said DOH consultant Dr. Willie Ong, vaccination is the
effective defense against polio and measles so also it should not be ignored
especially given the alleged fatal measles while lifelong paralysis can also
deliver polio.
